Pandemic Paintings (2020 - 2021)
This work was all made after March 12, 2020, when Minnesota's "Stay Safe Minnesota" shut down began in response to the growing numbers of COVID-19 infections and deaths. I chose to cope with the chaos by immersing into artwork based in states of calm, peacefulness and beauty. Animals and nature predominate, as well as a palette with vibrant colors. If there is a silver lining to this otherwise dark time, it is the opportunity to make many paintings.
