Mural Commissions > Mural Commission "Travel the Minnesota Trail"

In 2018-2019 Art4Joy (Holly Nelson & Michèle Coppin) were commissioned to paint a 165' mural on the theme of "Travel the Minnesota Trail". The mural is located in a tunnel connecting several buildings at a housing community for older adults. The purpose of the mural is to enliven an otherwise dreary space and offer a visual treat for people walking through the tunnel.

In conjunction with the mural, we sketched Minnesota flora and fauna on canvas which were painted by community residents. The completed paintings are displayed on a gallery wall opposite the mural.
